PMI-Park and walk

Today's meeting we discussed a PMI for our park and walk day.

Positive
Minus
Interesting

·      Children that walked listened
·      Children stayed in line.
·      The travel wise tree finished
·      Children waited sensibly for the hot chocolate
·      Found a good way to give our prizes out with the tree
·      The children were coming to the park and walk
Good road safe used by children

·      Travelwise team didn’t turn up
·      We weren’t at the correct places
·      We didn’t work as a team
·      Children were rushing after the gate to get their hot chocolate instead of walking as a group

·      To see what happens when we are at the correct places
·      If we promote more will there be more children
·      Send out more flyers
·      Go to each class and take old posters down to see if that helps promote the Park and walk

Where to next?

Plan to have a park and walk week 3.  Send poster Tuesday and Friday week 2.  Promote at assembly week 2.  Make the walking school bus actually show up.

First meeting of term 3

Our main goal this term is to see how
we can get a walking school bus in
our school.  Todays meeting we discussed
why we believe this is important.

The team decided the purpose of it was
to help and educate others on how to
keep safe walking to school.  The team
talked about walking with a group to get
to know them.

Another item we discuss regarding walking
school bus is helping the children that are
late get to school on time.

Our next step is to do a tally chart on Friday to tally how many student are coming late. Then another tally at the end of the year to see if we have made a difference.

We have planned a walk through our community next Wednesday and Thursday morning.  To look at our routes that we could start with.  Also a survey of parents to see where they think they would like to see one.  This will be done week seven.
